Edward the Confessor Small Flan Penny.
Imitative small flan type, Lifinc on London mint(?).
Helmeted bust left, rev. +lifinc on lin:ici, voided short cross (cf. N.818; S.1175).
"Mossop noted two coins by Lifinc for Lincoln but noted he had doubts about this attribution. Despite the good style reverse, the blundered legends, curious bust style and light weight suggest this is another example of the Linfinc imitative group noted by Dolley in NC 1961. provenance Found near Devizes, Wilts, c.1995".
Spink 1175. Ex Spink.
